Diane Roberta Urkel is Steve Urkel's mother. When Diane gave birth to Steve, he tried to push him back inside of her. She has six brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Her nieces include Myrtle and Julie, while her nephews are Cleotus and Cornelius (OGD). She, like her husband, has a lot of hate and contempt for Steve.

Her voice was heard in "Pulling Teeth", asking Steve why he isn't in bed, to which Steve replies he is waiting for the call. Annoyed, she orders him to go to bed at once.

In "Dr. Urkel and Mr. Cool," Steve had transformed into Stefan and she and Herb showered him with love. They introduced him to the rest of his relatives. In Season 6's "Home Sweet Home", after Herb invented a successful microscopic device, he and Diane immediately sold their home and moved to Russia without notifying Steve, which left him free to live with the Winslows in the last seasons.

Goofs

• In "Man's Best Friend", Steve claims that his mother's name is Diane, but in "Hot Wheels", he claims it is Roberta.
