Man's best friend is not a dog, at least in Carl's eyes, when a stray pooch named Mickey follows the kids home. Carl wants to get rid of the dog, but everyone else loved him and kept him in hiding. Carl eventually discovers Mickey and his feelings begin to change when the dog scares off unwelcome visitor Urkel. Carl soon becomes attached to the dog, but it is not long before the canine disrupts the family routine, destroying their homework and clothes. They realize Mickey is an outdoor, active dog and needs to live in a countryside, not the city. Despite Carl's pleas, they eventually convince him to give him up for adoption.
